Evaluation and Management of foot and ankle pain

Session outline

Foot and ankle pain is a common problem in August due to multiple factors.  It is responsible for debilitating pain and affects the quality of life.  Foot and ankle pain is multifactorial in origin.  Various treatments have been documented including medication, modification of lifestyle, injections and surgery.  Foot and ankle pain is a common problem in all ages observed in the clinical setting.  The course will cover anatomy, biomechanics and radiation treatment options of foot and ankle pain.

Lectures will be followed by rotations at different stations.  The presentations will be on anatomy, biomechanics, clinical features and minimally invasive procedures for foot and ankle pain.  Each speaker will focus on particular section.  It’ll conclude with questions, answers in discussion.

Learning outcomes

  • The participants will be able to analyze different sources of foot and ankle pain, including ligaments, joints, and muscles.
  • Learners will apply knowledge to evaluate the source of foot and ankle pain.
  • Learners will be exposed to guidelines and strategies to for management of foot and ankle tendon pain.
  • Learners were discussed and implemented guidelines for management of foot and ankle pain including ultrasound guided procedures on tendons using evidence medicine.
