Exercise to Prevent Falls Injury: Implementation of Evidence to Guide Clinical Practice

Session outline

The workshop will show how effective exercise programs for falls injury prevention can be implemented in community, nursing care facility and hospital settings. The emphasis will be on demonstration of the components of effective programs and how to address implementation barriers.

Learning outcomes

  1. Participants will have knowledge of effective falls injury prevention exercise programs
  2. Participants will be able to demonstrate the components of falls prevention exercise programs
  3. Participants will identify implementation barriers and facilitators
  4. Participants will design a falls prevention exercise program to be implemented in a setting of their choice

Target audience

The target audience is clinicians generally. An interdisciplinary approach will be highlighted. The general public are invited if interested in the topic. This would be older people and the families of older people.
