Session outline
Technology is playing more and more of a role in the delivery of rehabilitation services but not more than in the paediatric field where children adolescents and young adults possess levels of computer literacy far exceeding their parents. Technology has been used in pain management, the development of assistive devices, the delivery of rehabilitation and socialisation for children adolescents and young adults and is now more and more easily translatable on a global basis. In 2022 UNICEF and WHO launched a policy document in the use of assistive devices for children living with disabilities. This report prioritises the most vulnerable communities and supports better access for the 240 million children living with disabilities to assistive technology. This workshop discusses the most modern technological devices available in Australia and China and discusses access to assistive devices for children. Simple technological solutions ifor rehabilitation in middle and low income countries are also discussed.
