Dra Schiappacasse is a chair of the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in the British Hospital, Chief of the Prosthetic clinic in IREP (Public Hospital) and Director of Rehabilitation Clinic Las Araucarias.

She has published in Scientific Journals and has authored many book chapters. She has participated in the design of Guidelines for amputees and diabetic foot. Dra Schiappacasse is a member of many National and International Scientific Societies and is currently acting as treasurer at the ISPRM Presidential Cabinet. She is the recipient of prestigious awards including 3 Argentinian Academy awards and 10 recognition certificates.

She is an Honorary member of the Argentine Medical Association, SAMFYR and the Uruguayan Society of Physical Rehabilitation Medicine.

Dra Schiappacasse has been very active in the Latin American region giving training courses and lectures.
She has been training National and Latin American residents on amputees and prosthetic clinics, as well as pregrade PT, OT and P&O Active promotor of the rights of people with disability. Co founder of amputees associations.

She was sent by the National Government to give humanitarian help in the Haiti disaster in 2010
In San Salvador, El Salvador she trained and fitted guerrilla amputees. She currently goes to the North to fit and treat Wichi native people. Dra Schiappacasse goes to Montevideo once a month to the Clinicas Hospital to train residents on amputees.
